Join us in welcoming Amy MacCready to The Textile District! Amy is a Seattle-based artist and illustrator who takes inspiration from the year-round colors and flowers of the Pacific Northwest. After spending eight years in corporate graphic design, branding, and web design, she left to pursue surface pattern design and running her own creative business. She is self-taught, which really just means she’s willing to give anything a try, from watercolors to sketching to block-printing; and this eclectic process is reflected in her designs. She loves designing with warm colors, textures, lines, and lots of details that make you want to keep looking. When not designing new collections, or illustrating children’s books for her nieces, Amy can be found at one of the many parks overlooking Puget Sound enjoying the colors of a Pacific Northwest sunset.
Amy's newest collection, "Midsummer Night’s Dream" (inspired in part by the play by William Shakespeare), was created in anticipation of summer. Celebrating those forest evenings chasing fireflies or wandering through paths lightened by the moon. Perfect for children's clothing and nursery decor, this whimsical collection imagines a dream world where cute animals float in hot air balloons and foxes trot across the meadows. Each design is carefully curated in coordinating colors to make it easy to mix and match to suit any space.
The Textile District is thrilled to bring Amy's unique style and inspiration to you and demonstrate how easy it is to mix and match her fabric prints and colors for your next project! Every design is digitally stored and available to print on any base fabric you choose. As a final touch, our reactive dyes and eco-friendly, OEKO-TEX® certified process produces beautiful, soft and colorfast fabrics that are perfect for apparel to home decor! We've showcased her designs in two different color stories, and invite your to visit her complete collection in our online catalog >> Shop Amy MacCready Fabric Collection
