Meet the Designer: Kris Ruff

We are excited to welcome Kris Ruff, the artist behind Kris Ruff Designs -- and the newest textile designer to join us on The Textile District!

Kris Ruff is an artist with a passion for pattern and color. Influenced by Scandinavian modern style and inspired by nature, Kris uses lively line work and simple shapes to create playful, energetic designs that are as contemporary as they are timeless.

Kris has a Fine Arts degree from University of Wisconsin, and worked as a graphic artist/art director in her native Minneapolis for more than a decade. She left her graphic design job in 2000 to pursue a dream of creating her own products. She started with a line of skydiving t-shirts (she’s been a skydiver for 30+ years) and then grew her business into a full lifestyle brand. When Kris was ready for a new creative adventure, she started designing fabric patterns and now feels like that is her creative calling! Her mission is to create functional products that encourage everyone to have fun with color and pattern, bringing a little joy into our everyday lives. Today you can find Kris's art used on a wide range of products including fabrics, rugs, table linens, pillows, ceramics, stationery and gifts, pet products, luggage and more!
