Printed fabric at The Textile District is priced by the base textile you choose, with volume discounts available for qualifying larger orders. The same volume pricing applies whether you are ordering artist-designed fabric from our catalog or printing your own artwork.
Choose from 15+ quality base textiles for apparel, quilting, home décor, upholstery, accessories and other sewn products. Current printed prices, fabric weights, printable widths, care information and recommended uses are available on our Our Fabrics page.
How Printed Fabric Pricing Works
The price per yard is based on the base textile selected.
When shopping our artist-designed catalog, choose the design and colorway you want and then select the available base fabric that best fits your project.
For custom printing, choose the base fabric and yardage you need through our Print Custom Fabric page. New print-ready artwork is transferred separately after checkout and reviewed by a member of The Textile District team before production.
The minimum order is 1 yard. Larger qualifying orders receive the same volume discount schedule whether you are purchasing artist-designed fabric or printing your own artwork.
Volume Discounts for Printed Fabric
Volume discounts are based on the total qualifying yardage printed on the same base textile. When possible, choosing one base fabric for multiple designs or colorways can help you reach a higher volume discount while keeping the collection or project consistent.
- 1–50 yards: Listed price
- 51–100 yards: 5% discount
- 101–150 yards: 10% discount
- 151–200 yards: 15% discount
- 201+ yards: 20% discount
These volume discounts apply to qualifying orders from our artist-designed fabric catalog as well as custom fabric printing orders.
Yardage printed on different base textiles is calculated separately for volume pricing.
For current per-yard pricing and specifications for each substrate, visit Our Fabrics.
Combine Designs & Colorways on One Base Fabric
You do not have to order a single design or colorway to qualify for volume pricing. Multiple qualifying designs and colorways may be combined toward the volume threshold when they are printed on the same eligible base textile.
When the project allows, selecting one base fabric across multiple prints is the simplest way to consolidate yardage for volume pricing. This can work especially well for coordinating interiors, product collections, retail fabric orders, sample lines and other projects that use several designs on one substrate.
If different end uses require different fabrics, choose the substrate that is appropriate for each project. Volume pricing is calculated separately for each base textile.
If you are planning a larger order with multiple designs or special production requirements, contact us before ordering so we can help organize the project correctly.
One-Yard Production-Quality Proofs for Custom Printing
If you are printing your own artwork and color, scale, repeat, placement or the finished appearance is especially important, a one-yard custom order can be used as a production-quality proof before committing to larger yardage.
The proof is printed and finished using the same production process as larger orders. It is finished, usable fabric rather than a disposable test swatch.
If you want to adjust color, scale, repeat or another part of your artwork after reviewing the fabric, correct the file and order another proof before moving into production yardage.
The production-quality proof process described here applies to customers printing their own artwork. Artist-designed fabrics are ordered directly from our catalog by selecting the design, colorway and available base textile.
Personal File Review for Custom Orders
New custom print files are reviewed by a member of The Textile District team before production.
We look for common file and setup issues that may affect the printed result. If we see something that needs attention, we contact you before the file moves forward.
We do not resize, recolor or otherwise alter your artwork.
Printing & Finishing
Cotton, linen and cotton-linen blends are direct printed with OEKO-TEX® certified fiber-reactive dyes. After printing, the fabric is steamed, washed and dried as part of the finishing process, so it arrives soft, colorfast and ready to sew.
Poly Spandex 4-Way Knit, Polyester Linen and Polyester Fleece are sublimation printed using a process suited to polyester fibers. Polyester Outdoor uses a specialized printing process and formulation designed for water-repellent performance and 500+ hours of UV lightfastness.
Printed fabric arrives finished and ready to use, so no pre-washing is required before sewing.
How Larger Fabric Orders Are Shipped
Orders of 3 yards or more are shipped rolled on a core to help minimize folds and creases. Orders of 2 yards or less are generally shipped folded.
Larger production orders may have additional put-up options depending on the project and quantity.
