Meet the Artist: Calee Ceconni

Published by Nannette D on 19th Aug 2022

Meet Calee Ceconni, the designer, multimedia artist, educator, and aspiring bass player behind chimesdesign!

Inspired by abstract and modern art, Calee's first collection is vibrant and bright, with bold colors and patterns that are sure to be popular with do-it-yourself sewing and decor enthusiasts who want out-of-the-ordinary home goods, bespoke clothing, as well as gender-neutral decor to modern quilts in bold, sophisticated styles!

Here's the story behind Calee's collection in her own words:

"I wanted my first collection with The Textile District to represent my art style as much as possible. I gathered inspiration from styles I enjoy. I combined this inspiration with my design methods—melding traditional art tools (paint!) with modern technology (computer programming!). I generated each design in this collection by combining marks I made with ink and paint with creative code. I programmed several different lines of code to generate aspects of each pattern, such as color, placement, and layout."

We hope you enjoy browsing her collection! Each design is available in multiple colorways and we've organized them by color story to illustrate how lovely they mix and match: Earthy Neutrals, Colorful Funghi, and Tie Dye!

Let's get started!
