Designer Profile Emily Ennulat Lustine

Meet the Designer: Emily Ennulat-Lustine

Emily Ennulat-Lustine - Ennulat DesignsWe are thrilled to introduce Emily Ennulat-Lustine, the artist behind Ennulat Designs -- and the textile designer behind two elegant floral fabric collections, "Helen's Joy" and "Weslia Garden" available exclusively on The Textile District.

Emily is a printmaker, painter, illustrator, and jewelry artist living in Wyncote, Pennsylvania. After majoring in Graphic Design at the Maryland Institute, College of Art and Design, she discovered fine art printmaking and has been exhibiting and selling her original collagraphs for over 22 years throughout the northeast.

No matter what medium Emily is working with, nature’s intricate details and earthy palette consistently find their way into her work. Although her fine art always includes patterns and textures as a significant component, her love for beautiful interiors and fabrics has recently introduced her to the textile industry, with gardens, flora and nature at the forefront of her designs. In addition to creating elegant textile patterns and painting murals for home interiors, Emily creates handmade jewelry, dimensional fine art with encaustic wax, and recently illustrated her first children’s book! If she is not in her home studio or printing at 705 West Printshop and Gallery, you will find her happiest when enjoying her family or hiking in the woods and gardens.

So let's get started!!

"Helen's Joy" Collection by Emily Ennulat-Lustine

Emily's latest collection, "Helen's Joy," is inspired by the luscious gardens surrounding her historic home, once referred to as Weslia and built in 1895 by Charles Beck and his wife, Helen Woodward. They both adored gardening, and a number of the old Norway Spruces and Oaks still tower above. Original Rhododendrons still border the property, and a moss and lichen covered Weigela tree still offers brilliant pink blooms every Spring, despite its age.

Last Spring, while the world was shut down, Emily's mom, also a Helen, stayed with her for a bit. Helen loved the glorious purple and pink blooms of the lilac tree, the azaleas, the hostas and so many others. Helen struggles with her memory these days, so each hour was as if she was seeing these gorgeous blossoms for the first time. It brought her such joy. Taking a simple stroll around the yard, dabbling in her paints and puzzles on the front porch, indulging in dessert on the deck, were made even grander by the great abundance of flowers she enjoyed all around her.

And so this new Spring Collection, "Helen's Joy" was created with these two women and their deep love for flowers, gardens, and simple beauty in mind. We hope you enjoy exploring the many beautiful designs and colorways, each available to custom print on any base fabric you choose for apparel, home decor, upholstery, quilts, and more.
