Meet the Artist: Isabel Isaza
Isabel Isaza is a Colombian artist, educator, and surface pattern designer known for vibrant tropical botanicals, expressive brushwork, richly layered color, and imaginative interpretations of the natural world.
Now based in Arizona, Isabel draws inspiration from the lush vegetation and dynamic landscapes of her native Colombia as well as the changing light, desert trails, and natural forms surrounding her current home.
Her patterns begin with original paintings created in acrylic, gouache, or watercolor. Isabel then develops the painted artwork into repeating textile designs while preserving the movement, tonal variation, organic edges, and visible character of the original brushwork.
Before launching Isabel Isaza Patterns, she worked as a freelance textile designer for the women’s apparel market, creating and selling prints to established fashion brands including Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, and JBrand. That experience informs the way her patterns balance artistic expression with scale, movement, color coordination, and practical use.

Carisma Radicans, Lunette Decipiens, Midori Acropolis, Nunzia Crystallium, Roxette Veitchi, and Simba Forgeti explore layered leaves, stylized flowers, radiating forms, and richly colored tropical arrangements. Lucardi Calisto provides a painterly textural coordinate, while Uranus Magnificum introduces an abstract spotted repeat.
The collection is organized around coordinated Lavender, Mustard, and Ruby color stories, supplemented by teal, fern green, azure, and related shades. These shared palettes allow tropical focal prints, abstract textures, and coordinating designs to be mixed throughout a project.
