Meet the Artist: Nadia Kronfli
Nadia Kronfli is a Tucson-based watercolor and digital artist known for joyful, color-saturated florals, expressive botanicals, rhythmic geometrics, and richly detailed abstract patterns.
Her lifelong relationship with textiles began as a teenager when she learned to sew. Making her own clothing and decorative accessories gave Nadia an appreciation for the way pattern, color, scale, and fabric work together in a finished project.
Her creative background also includes fashion design, photography, painting, and time spent working in the fabric department at Liberty of London. The development of digital print-on-demand textiles eventually gave her the freedom to turn her own artwork into fabric and create a truly individual wardrobe.
Nadia has lived and traveled in several visually distinctive places, including London, San Carlos in Mexico, and Tucson, Arizona. She continues to spend summers in the United Kingdom, where museums, exhibitions, gardens, and travel provide new sources of inspiration.
Her Textile District catalog includes three coordinated collections: Gentle Jungle, Moroccan Souk, and Bohemian Waves. Every design is printed to order in the USA on your choice of 15+ base fabrics with a 1-yard minimum.
Watercolor, Digital Art, and Unapologetically Bold Color
Color is the defining force in Nadia’s work. Hot pink, coral, yellow, orange, teal, blue, green, lavender, and red appear in confident combinations designed to attract attention and create an emotional response.
Nadia works digitally and with watercolor, often drawing from her own photographs and observations of flowers, landscapes, architecture, and travel. Her patterns retain the freedom of painting while using repeat, symmetry, rhythm, and scale to make the artwork functional for fabric.
Her designs rarely rely on quiet neutrals or restrained conventional palettes. Instead, familiar subjects such as poppies, ferns, palms, moons, medallions, and ornamental tiles become more expressive through unexpected color relationships.
This approach makes Nadia’s fabrics especially effective for statement apparel, modern quilts, curtains, upholstery, bedding, outdoor accents, bags, and interiors where pattern is intended to become a focal point.

Gentle Jungle: Bold Florals, Leaves, and Playful Geometrics
Gentle Jungle combines abundant flowers and foliage with energetic geometric coordinates. Crazy Lizzie, Hot Pink, Poppies, Tossed Poppies, Ferns, and Spring Leaves explore oversized blossoms, winding botanical lines, scattered flowers, and graphic leafy repeats.
Crazy Bubbles and Wavy Spots introduce curving dots, striped movement, and irregular geometric shapes that coordinate with the collection’s floral patterns.
Blue, coral, orange, pink, yellow, green, teal, and lilac appear in vivid high-contrast combinations. The collection is well suited to modern quilts, expressive apparel, children’s rooms, pillows, curtains, bags, table linens, and cheerful home décor.
Moroccan Souk: Global-Inspired Pattern and Resort Color
Moroccan Souk is inspired by the color, rhythm, ornament, and visual energy of Moroccan marketplaces. It combines palm trees, medallions, tile-inspired geometry, stripes, decorative borders, and richly layered abstract forms.
Oasis and Casablanca provide bold resort-inspired focal patterns, while Fez, Tangier, and Zellij introduce repeating geometric and ornamental motifs. Marrakech Stripe and Marrakech Border add directional coordinates that can be used alone or paired with the larger prints.
Selected Oasis, Casablanca, Fez, and border designs are offered in more than one scale. Mini versions are especially useful for apparel, quilting, accessories, and smaller project pieces.
The border patterns create additional design possibilities for skirts, dresses, curtains, tablecloths, pillows, bedding, and projects where the placement of the decorative band can become part of the construction.

Bohemian Waves: Florals, Celestial Motifs, and Decorative Medallions
Bohemian Waves blends stylized flowers, ornate medallions, crescent moons, starbursts, flowing ribbons, hand-drawn lines, and abstract stripes in Nadia’s characteristic saturated color.
Adele provides a lively daisy-like floral in Grande, regular, and Mini scales. Aria introduces moons, medallions, stars, and sweeping ribbons, while Aurora explores repeated ornamental forms.
Avril combines bands of flowers with lines, curls, dots, and geometric marks. Avery Multi creates an expressive abstract stripe, and Allegra Stripe and Allegra Border introduce medallion-based directional patterns. Autumn adds another richly colored abstract coordinate.
The collection works particularly well for bohemian interiors, expressive apparel, quilts, bedding, curtains, statement pillows, bags, and decorative projects that combine several scales.

Choosing Pattern Scale and Border Placement
Grande and Larger-Scale Designs
Choose a larger floral, botanical, or medallion scale for curtains, upholstery, bedding, statement garments, oversized pillows, and other projects with broad areas of uninterrupted fabric.
Regular and Mini Designs
Regular and Mini patterns keep more of the complete motif visible within quilt blocks, fitted garments, children’s clothing, bags, napkins, linings, bindings, and smaller accessories.
Border Prints
Marrakech Border, Zellij Border, and Allegra Border are designed to create a decorative band across the fabric. Review the repeat and orientation shown on the individual product page before calculating yardage or cutting project pieces.
Border prints can be positioned near a garment hem, curtain edge, tablecloth border, duvet panel, pillow face, or other area where the directional artwork becomes a deliberate design feature.

Project Inspiration for Nadia Kronfli Fabrics
Statement Apparel and Resort Sewing
Use Moroccan Souk palms, border prints, bohemian florals, or Gentle Jungle botanicals for dresses, skirts, camp shirts, robes, swim cover-ups, scarves, and coordinated accessories.
Choose a Mini design for detailed garment pieces or use a border print intentionally along a hem, neckline, sleeve, or panel.
Quilts and Color-Rich Patchwork
Select a floral, celestial, or ornamental design as the focal fabric, then add dots, stripes, smaller medallions, abstract textures, or Mini patterns for blocks, sashing, borders, binding, and backing.
Working within one shared palette allows several highly expressive motifs to coexist without losing cohesion.
Curtains, Upholstery, and Outdoor Accents
Use large-scale florals, palms, medallions, and abstract patterns for curtains, upholstered chairs, benches, headboards, pillows, and bedding.
Selected designs may also be printed on an appropriate performance fabric for covered-patio cushions, porch curtains, outdoor pillows, table linens, and poolside accessories.
