Meet The Artist: Abby Glover, AjoyeDesigns
Growing up in the Pacific Northwest has given Abby a true appreciation for the natural world. Whether it’s hiking in Mt. Hood National forest, or beachcombing along the Oregon Coast, the days spent gathering wildflower bouquets has most certainly left its mark. Inspired by the limitless design details and color palettes found only in nature, her artwork is often a representation of the natural beauty that is around us every day. By exploring both hand sketching and watercolor painting, she loves to create patterns that resonate with those who enjoy the little details of life.
After studying Interior Design at Oregon State University, Abby worked for nearly a decade with an amazing team at Carol Williamson and Associates as an Interior Designer. The friendships formed and projects completed during those years have helped shape her own design process and has undeniably influenced her work as a Surface Pattern Designer.
Inspiration behind Vitamin Sea for kids:
"I’m a little bit obsessed with going to the beach. There is just something about hunting for seashells and digging in the sand that never gets old. Where I grew up, we were 45 minutes from the Oregon Coast, and we would often pack a lunch and go for the day. There is always something new to discover at the beach. I wanted to capture that idea of “wonder” that you have as a kid, running free along the wet sand. Those happy exploratory days of picking up seashells and discovering starfish hiding in the rocks, were very much etched into my kid memories. “Vitamin Sea for Kids” is a Collection that speaks to both the youthful spirit of adventure and the child - like wonder that is accessible to anyone who seeks it."
